PURPOSE:To suppress the expansion and contraction of a floppy disk to a small extent by forming a recessed part for fitting a stepping motor in a main body and numbers of ribs in the top and bottom surfaces of the main body which form a storage space. CONSTITUTION:The main body 1 is H-sectioned and a driving motor 3 and a lower base plate are provided to its bottom surface side; and an attachment plate made of iron is provided to the top surface side of the main body 1 under the motor 3 and an upper base plate is provided thereon. A head mechanism, head loading mechanism, and stepping motor are provided over the lower base plate on the top surface side of the main body 1 so that they adjoin to the upper base plate. Then, the space between the attachment plate and main body 1 is used as the storage space of the floppy disk 5. The main body 1 has the recessed part 1P for attaching the stepping motor to the outside wall of the main body 1; and vent holes 1Q1, 1Q2, and 1Q3 are formed in the outside wall and numbers of ribs 1R1- are provided to the top and bottom surfaces of the main body 1. |
