The application relates to a swivelable ashtray for vehicles, in particular for motor vehicles, which consists of a fixed frame component and a swivel component which is mounted rotatably in the latter and has a removable ash container with an ash inlet opening, said container being held via a clip connection and being covered in the closed position of the swivel component by means of a lid. In order to ensure, with the smallest possible constructional outlay, that the ash container is closed in a sealed manner when the ashtray is closed, there is provision according to the invention for the lid to be arranged fixedly on the upper side of the frame component and profiled in such a way that when the swivel component is closed it interacts in a sealing manner with the edges of the ash inlet opening.
