Heating plant for a building with a concrete roof receiving and storing heat from the surroundings and from which the heat is withdrawn via a heat pump and is delivered to heating devices of the building. The building walls are provided with an external insulation, so that the building walls and the intermediate floors act as a heat reservoir. A control is provided for the heat pump and, in dependence on an external temperature and in dependence on the residual heat stored in the building, controls the switch-on times and switch-on duration of the heat pump such that they lie in a given section of time in which electric current is offered at the most favourable tariff.
