An electrical switchgear cabinet for low-voltage installations is formed from a frame which is formed from profiled strips 10, 12; there are push-in drawers, which are bounded at the bottom by means of a base metal sheet (14, 16), in the switchgear cabinet. The base metal sheets are held by means of retaining elements (30) which are firmly screwed to the profiles (12). In order to achieve optimum guidance of the base metal sheets, each retaining element (30) is constructed approximately in a box shape and, on its top, has a web (44) which engages in a slot (70, 72) on the base metal sheet and thus ensures lateral guidance of the base metal sheet. In order that the base metal sheet cannot be raised upwards, it is surrounded on its front edge in a U-shape in such a manner that the one free limb (16'') engages around the retaining element from underneath. In order that the base metal sheet cannot be pulled out from the front, a flap (76) is provided which acts as a stop against the rear surface of the retaining element. <IMAGE>
