An apparatus for cleaning door frames of coke oven chambers includes a grating support 11 attached to a carriage 18, movable by an hydraulic cylinder 10 in the direction of the oven chamber, and reciprocated vertically in relation to the carriage by an hydraulic cylinder 22 and carrying gratings 13, 23 and 24 and scrapers 14 for cleaning the surfaces of the door frame. The gratings have a vertical mesh pitch less than the amplitude of the vertical movement of the support 11. Stops 30 are attached to the carriage and locate against the surfaces of the door frame, and guides 44 are carried by the support 11 to co-operate with latch hooks on the door frame to laterally locate the gratings. Pressure is applied to the gratings by hydraulic cylinders 12, 19. |
