PURPOSE:To prepare L-lysine useful as a drug or a food additive inexpensively, by cultivating a specific strain belonging to the genus Corynebacterium or Brevibacterium. CONSTITUTION:A strain [e.g., Corynebacterium glutamicum H-3289 (FERM-P 157: 5-bromouracil resistance)] belonging to the genus Corynebacterium or Brevibacterium, having 6-methylpurine resistance or 5-bromouracil resistance, capable of producing L-lysine, is inoculated into a medium containing a carbon source, an inorganic substance, and other necessary nutrients, and cultivated at 20- 40 deg.C at 3-9pH for 1-6 days aerobically, to form and to accumulate L-lysine. Precipitate is removed from the culture solution, and L-lysine is recovered by ion exchange method, concentration method, adsorption method, salting out method, etc. |
