Pale, crosslinkable polymer composition, and the use thereof

Pale, crosslinkable polymer compositions which are particularly suitable for the production of crosslinked coatings on electrical cables and are based on ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers can be better stabilised by a synergistic combination of alkaline earth metal salts of relatively long-chain fatty acids with derivatives of 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline. The compositions additionally contain fillers and monomers which facilitate crosslinking, and optionally plasticisers, peroxidic initiators and polycarbodiimides.
