Gas-heated storage tank with a water container heated by a burner, in which is provided a heat exchanger for supplying at least one room radiator. An exhaust gas heat exchanger (11) and a changeover valve (14) are associated with the storage tank (1) so that in a first position of the said valve the exhaust gas heat exchanger (11) is connected only to the heating system heat exchanger (16), and in its other position both heat exchangers can be connected together to the radiator. The main field of application of the invention is to central heating systems with combined use water preparation for apartment houses. <IMAGE>
