The heating boiler has an upper (35) and a lower (37) chamber, the chambers being connected together through a flue-gas channel (45) which connects together the longitudinal slots (39,41) of the two chambers (35,37). The flue-gas channel (45) is easily accessible from the front for cleaning. By rotating the front panel through 180 DEG and displacing the cover (27), the heating boiler can be selectively used as a calorific value device or a heat output value device. <IMAGE>
