A vehicle body (1) is mounted on a bolsterless bogie (4) via air-springs (2). In order to avoid unequal loading on failure of an air spring an emergency support (8) is provided. This comprises a coil spring (9) or spring washers arranged around a substantially central vertical pivot (1) connecting the body (1) to the bogie (4). On failure of a spring (2), an abutment plate spaced (W) from a contact plate (12) contacts the latter so as to bring the spring (9) into action.
