The flotation air is introduced into a volume of the materials to be separated, in a state of at least partial solution in a liquid, forming micronised bubbles which adhere to the lighter particles and raise them to the free surface. This surface to subjected to the action of mechanical sweeping which carries the floating particles towards a side volume. The liquid material liberated from the light particles overflows towards an outlet for treated material situated in the opposite side of this volume.
