PURPOSE:To prevent a driver being ejected out of the seat with the opening of a door at the collision of vehicle by checking forward movement of a seat belt so as to keep driver confined in the seat against the collision. CONSTITUTION:An impact sensor 16 is desinged not to work in normal operation. With the opening or the closing of the door, a switch 13 works while a limit switch 14 is changed over at the upper end 5b of a seat belt 5 to control the rotation of a motor. Upon the opening of the door, the upper end section 5b of the belt is moved forward to release a driver M and upon the closing of the door, the upper end section 5b is moved backward to confine the driver. At the collision, the impact sensor 16 works to open a relay contact 17a causing a working control circuit 12 to open. Therefore, even if the switch turns to the position 13C upon the opening of the door at the collision, the motor 9 never turns inversely. And the upper end section 5b of the seat belt 5 is retained at the rear end position thereby maintaining the driver M confined at the seat. |
