The invention relates to a method for producing aluminium salts of cyclic phosphinic acid. According to the invention, cyclic phosphinic acids such as 1-hydroxy-dihydrophospholoxide or 1-hydroxyphospholanoxide are reacted with basic aluminium acetate such as hydroxyaluminiumdiacetate in the presence of water and in the absence of polar solvents with heat for a reaction time of 1 to 20 hours.
