<p>In order to precipitate calcium ions from aqueous solutions of magnesium chloride, which may also contain alkali metal ions or other ions, dialkylphosphoric acid is used in an organic water-immiscible solvent. The calcium extraction selectivity is rectified by maintaining the hydrochloric acid concentration in the solution to be treated. In an illustrative embodiment, a decrease in the calcium chloride content from an initial value of 24.1 g of CaCl2.l<-1> to 0.22 g of CaCl2.l<-1> at a concentration of the aqueous magnesium chloride solution of 430 g of MgCl2.l<-1> is mentioned. Areas of possible applications: chemistry of magnesium compounds, production of basic refractory materials, production of metallic magnesium.</p> |
