PURPOSE:To obtain rollers provided with brake mechanisms, having a simple structure with less troubles such as, for example, accidents or failures, by fitting an outer roller ring rotatably onto the stationary shaft of each roller, and by providing a brake member arranged to be contacted with and separated from the roller outer ring by means of a drive device. CONSTITUTION:An outer roller ring 5 is fitted onto the outer peripheral part of a stationary shaft 1 piercing through a machine frame 2, and is attached, at its front end, with a retainer 7 for a bearing 6. Further, an air cylinder 11 is constituted such that a piston 10 is disposed in a recess 9 formed in the center section of the front end of the stationary shaft 1, and is provided with a disc section 12 facing the inner surface of the retainer 7 and attached, on the side thereof adjacent to the retainer 7, with a brake lining 13. Accordingly, when air is fed to the air cylinder 11 through a pipe line 15 connected to the stationary shaft 1, the piston 10 advances to press the brake lining 13 against the retainer 7, thereby a material 16 to be conveyed, set on the outer roller ring 5, may be maintained to stop. |
