PURPOSE:To discriminate and decide on plural stop positions of a rotating shaft securely and to reduce the size and weight of a device by detecting a specific stop position from specific mark patterns obtained at respective stop positions and elasped time data on signal detection. CONSTITUTION:Only a single mark sensor 50 is provided to detect stop positions of a position detection plate 42. This kind of device has a rotating shaft 40 which rotates normally at a specific speed and its stop positions are previously set, so a combination of detection signals from the mark sensor 50, i.e. a mark pattern is compared with time information on a mark pattern determined by the rotating speed of the rotating shaft 40 to judge whether the rotating shaft 40 rotates to a specific stop position or not. Consequently, the detection and confirmation of the current position of the device, error detection, etc. are carried out very easily. Thus, the single mark sensor is only used to detect the stop positions of the rotating shaft accurately by the mark pattern comparison and time decision, thus obtaining the small-size, lightweight device. |
