<p>A vertically elongated guide structure is recessed within a floor (12) adjacent a wall (10) having a door opening (14) formed therein with a door (16) swingably mounted from the wall (10). The guide structure (20) is positioned slightly outward of the side of the wall (10) from which the door (16) swings toward the open position. An elongated upstanding locking member (32) is guidingly supported from guide structure (20) for movement between a downwardly retracted position projecting only slightly above the level of the floor (12) and a raised position projecting appreciably above the door lower marginal edge (44) of the door (16) and is spring biased toward the extended position. Coacting latch structure (34, 36 and 38) allows free vertical movement of the lock member between its raised and retracted positions when the locking member (32) is in one limit position of oscillation and releasably latches the locking member (32) in the retracted position when the locking member (32) is angularly displaced to the other limit position of oscillation thereof. </p> |
