The invention relates to an apparatus for separating a plurality of coils (3-6) which are arranged close together, which form a pack and the inner layers of which are displaced out of the respective centre plane of the coil into the region of the adjacent coil. In order to be able to remove these coils (3-6) without trouble from a common carrier despite the interleaving of the inner layers, a spreadable or expandable support (20) is provided for the band pack. By spreading the support, it is possible to move the individual coils apart while retaining their position in relation to the support region supporting them. The coils separated in this way can be removed individually from the carrier without being hindered by the adjacent coil.
