A building kit is described which is suitable as a toy, teaching aid or for producing decorative walls or other structural elements. The building kit is distinguished by the fact that its individual structural elements have at least one plate element which can be pushed into the structural element or is firmly fitted there, and that at least one inner surface of the structural element or at least one surface of the plate element is a reflective surface. The structural elements may be of hollow or solid design, at least one bounding wall, or in the case of solid bodies, at least one section extending at least up to the plate element having to be of a transparent design in order for the reflective surface to have a visual effect. <IMAGE>
