A wall holder has a clamping dowel (1) having an expanding sleeve (2), an expanding cone (3) and a clamping screw (5), whose screw head (6) is supported on a support plate (8). A support part (12) is mounted slidingly displaceable in the vertical direction on the support plate (8). Said support part is constructed in one piece with a lug (17) which is arranged on the rear of the support plate (8) and into which an adjusting screw (27) may be screwed. The adjusting screw (27) engages by means of an axial continuation (29), which is constructed on it and is of reduced diameter in an upwardly directed radial hole (30) of the expanding sleeve (2). <IMAGE>
