Apparatus for laying a copy-sheet (2) on a rotary photosensitive drum (3), with a pair of driven feed rollers (5) and, arranged above them, a pair of driven output rollers (24) arranged at a distance from the photosensitive drum (3) on that side of the latter at which its direction of movement is upward, and with a guiding device with the aid of which the copy-sheet (2) can be fed laterally from below to the photosensitive drum (3) along a guidetrack (1) between the pair of feed rollers (5) and the pair of output rollers (24) and can be deflected upwardly in an arc towards the pair of output rollers (24) in a direction opposite to the direction of feed (arrow 35) and thereby the copy-sheet (2) is laterally laid on the photosensitive drum (3) in the region of the apex of the guidetrack (1), characterised in that the guiding device is provided with a guide-balancer (13) which is journalled at a distance from its centre of gravity so that it can freely swing over 360 degrees from its normal position taken up under the effect of its own weight around a shaft (17) extending parallel with the axis of the photosensitive drum (3) and which has a hook (12) fitted with a catching notch (15) which in the normal position of the balancer (13) is located in the path of the leading edge of the copy-sheet (2) emerging from the nip of the pair of feed rollers (5) so that by means of the copy-sheet (2) fed by the feed rollers the balancer (13) can swing upwardly under the drive of the feed rollers (5) from its normal position against its weight, thereby causing a deflection of the copy-sheet (2) and its laying on the photosensitive drum (3), and an output guiding device (25, 26, 22) is provided for lifting out the leading edge of the copy-sheet (2) from the catching notch (15) at a lifting-out position (P) at which the balancer (13) with the catching notch (15) of its hook (12) has passed the upper apex of its arc of swing for guiding it into the nip of the pair of output rollers (24).
