PURPOSE:To enable to continue printing by replacing a troubled hammer with a normal one, by a method wherein the second typing hammer is provided adjacently to a printing hammer group, and a type is provided at a corresponding position of a type belt, in a belt-type printer. CONSTITUTION:The type belt 1 is provided wth types in two rows, which are faced to a movable printing hammer 4 and the printing hammer group 3, and printing is conducted on a printing paper 7 through an ink ribbon 6. The hammer 4 is turned OFF in normal use. However, when a hammer, for example, at 124th digit place in the hammer group 3 is in trouble, a digit place designating button 10-1 provided on an operating panel 9 is depressed to display a number 124 on a digit place display device 10, and a hammer-moving switch 11 is turned ON, whereby the movable hammer 4 is moved through a buffer register 12, a controlling part 13 and a moving mechanism 5, and printing is conducted with a delay of one line. Accordingly, even when one of the printing hammers is in trouble, the printing action can be continued by immediately replacing the troubled hammer with a normal one. |
