PURPOSE:To measure continuously and automatically a tensile strength of a thread by providing a clamping apparatus grasping the thread drawn out from a thread supply source before grasping a testing thread by upper and lower chucks and by providing an apparatus giving initial load to the testing thread and an apparatus for drawing out the thread. CONSTITUTION:The thread is drawn out from a thread take-up cheese 1 by hand at first one time, and the thread is passed through in order of a thread guide 2, a front clamping apparatus 3, a thread guide 4b of an upper air chuck 4, a thread guide 5b of a lower chuck 5, a ring 7c of an initial loading apparatus 7, a rear clamping apparatus 8, an air nozzle 9a of a sucking apparatus 9 and a thread storage basket 7b. If the nozzle 9a is functioned, the air chucks 4, 5 and the apparatus 8 are opened and the plunger of a cylinder 7a is elevated, the old thread is replaced by new one. The ring 7c descends by the changeover of a ports valve 10c and the thread is loaded, the chucks 4, 5 grasp the thread, a tension due to movement of the chuck 5 is detected by a load cell 4c and the thread strength is measured continuously. |
