The rotating yarn spinner contains a plurality of yarn run-offs (GA1-GA6) which respectively contain bobbins arranged axis-parallel to the spinner axis, the yarn knockover taking place overhead. Each bobbin is assigned a rotatably mounted knockover cage (AK) extending in alignment with it, the yarn (GN) being guided over the edge of the knockover cage (AK) and driving the latter. Moreover, the knockover cage (AK) is equipped with a braking device, so that a specific pulling force during the overhead knockover can be achieved in a simple way. <IMAGE>
