Method for injection blow molding transparent hollow objects from a polyethylene terephthalate melt comprises molding from a melt at 277-302 DEG C into a parison, quickly and relatively uniformly cooled by parison mold elements at 23-66 DEG C, to a temperature above the glass transition temperature of the melt. The parison is then immediately blown and cooled to temperature below the softening point of the melt, all in a manner to avoid crystallization and to produce a hollow PET object, typically a clear bottle. |
