PURPOSE:To prevent lubricating oil in a crank case from mixing into intake air in an engine which increase and decrease the volume of the crank case to compress and supercharge intake air by providing separately a compression chamber in a portion of the case of compress and supercharge the intake air. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder block 1 provided with a plurality of cylinders 2, 3 is provided on the lower portion with a crank case 5 housing a crankshaft 4. In this case the case 5 is provided on one side with a compression chamber 11 which is isolated from the interior of the case 5 by a diaphragm 12. And, to the compression chamber 11 is connected an intake path 14 from an air cleaner 13 and in this path 14 is provided an intake check valve 15. Also, the compression chamber 11 is connected through a supercharging path 17 provided with a discharge check valve 18 to a surge tank 16 and further through an intake manifold 20 to an intake port 6 of said both cylinders 2, 3. Thus, intake air to an engine is compressed and supercharged in the compression chamber 11 so that lubricating oil in said case 5 is prevented from mixing into the intake air. |
