PURPOSE:To obtain the titled FRP tube excellent in strength along all directions, in forming the FRP tube by a filament winding method, by winding a part of a roving fiber under the condition that loops of an indeterminate form are overlapped each other in disorder. CONSTITUTION:The mixture 6 of resin, e.g. unsaturated polyester, and a catalyst is sprayed together with a chopped strand 13 obtd. by crushing a roving fiber 11, e.g. a glass fiber, onto the periphery of a rotary horizontal mandrel 4. On the other hand, another roving fiber 15 is supplied in a slackened continuous state from a delivery means 14 toward the mandrel 4 at a speed higher than the circumferential speed of the mandrel 4 and wound round the mandrel 4 under the condition that loops of an indeterminate form are overlapped each other in disorder. Then, another roving fiber 28 is wound round the mandrel 4, and the resin 6 is cured as a unitary body with the roving fibers 11, 15, 28. Thus, the objective FRP tube is obtained. |
