In the case of this light switching installation, the room lighting devices (14-1, ... 14-7) have allocated to them double-function switches (17-1, ... 17-7) each of which contains a bistable switching block for switching the room lighting device and a monostable switching block by means of which a relay (7) for switching the central lighting arrangement (4), for example the corridor lighting, can be driven via a main control line (11-1, ... 11-n) and a control circuit (9). Pushing the push-button of a double-function switch for a longer period, lasting approximately 0.8s, delays the connecting room lighting device and switches the central lighting arrangement (4), while pressing it briefly switches just the room lighting device. The relay (7) can additionally be driven without any delay by auxiliary push-button switches (19-3, 19-8, 19-9), via auxiliary control lines (12-3, 12-n). Thus, by operating the double-function switch for a longer period, the lighting in front is in each case switched on and that behind is switched off when changing rooms. Moving backwards and forwards between switches, which was previously necessary for this purpose, is obviated. The installation results in only insignificant additional costs, since the relay (7) is arranged with the control circuit (9) on the fuse panel (1), and only one main control line (11-1, ... 11-n) needs to be made use of for each light circuit (13-1, ... 13-n). <IMAGE>
