PURPOSE:To relieve transmission of vibration from an engine to vehicular body during idling, by determining the number of a cylinder into which fuel is supplied according to an engine running condition, and controlling a vibration transmission rate of a vibration damping device on the basis of the determination signal. CONSTITUTION:When an engine intake manifold vacuum is more than a set value V0, and an engine speed is less than a set value S0, and an engine cooling temperature is more than a fixed value, a cylinder number reducing signal A is generated. In compliance with this, as an actuator 5 moves to shut a shutter valve 4, supply of air-fuel mixture to a second and a third cylinder of the engine 1 is stopped, and accordingly the engine 1 is operated by a first and a fourth cylinder only. Then, a drive circuit 30 in a vibration transmission rate control circuit 25 receives the cylinder number reducing signal A from a cylinder number decision circuit 6, and outputs a drain command to a relief valve 29, so as to drain a fixed amount of oil in an oil chamber 24. Accordingly, an oil pressure in the oil chamber is reduced from a preset value, and compression amount of an elastic member 23 is increased by the reduction in the oil pressure. In other words, a vibration transmission rate of a vibration damping device 20 is reduced to relieve transmission of vibration to a vehicular body during idling with the number of cylinder reduced. |
