OPTICAL FIBER CUTTER

摘要

PURPOSE:To cut optical fibers without scratches and irregularity of cut ends by providing a means which backs up a holder when a pressure head which cuts optical fibers is brought into contact with optical fibers on the holder and applies pressure to them. CONSTITUTION:Plural optical fibers to be cut are held on an optical fiber holder 14, and a pressure head 20 at the tip of a head arm 18 is pressed down and is brought into contact with optical fibers and applies pressure to them to generate flaws on surfaces of optical fibers. Flaws are not generated in case of application of pressure by rubbing surfaces of fibers with a cutter because the rear face of the holder 14 is supported by a backup means 23; and when the backup means 22 is separated from the holder 14 and the holder 14 is bent, optical fibers are cut at a time without irregularity.
