PURPOSE:To enhance light, heat, and humidity resistance of a dye and to prevent stains, by incorporating a phenolic type photographic cyan coupler having a specified substituent group at the position 2 of the phenol and an acylamino group at its position 5. CONSTITUTION:The phenolic type photographic cyan coupler to be used is exemplified by compds. of formulae II and III, and has a substituent represented by formula I (R1 is halogen or a monovalent org. group; R2 is H, C, Br, or a monovalent org. group; and n is 1, 2, or 3) at the position 2 of the phenol, and acylamino group at its position 5. The obtained photographic material is superior in sensitivity, the max. density of the dye, and color reproductivity, as well as light, heat, and humidity resistance, and prevented from occurrence of stains. |
