PURPOSE:To eliminate surely the internal defects of an Al ingot and to obtain a high quality Al thick plate having >=50mm. thickness and both plate-width ends comparable in quality with the central part, by specifying rolling conditions in hot rolling an Al thick plate. CONSTITUTION:An Al material is hot rolled from the thickness twice as much as that of a finished plate to the finished thickness so that a rolling shape-ratio expressed by an equation (R: diam. of work roll, H, HO: respective thicknesses at the inlet and outlet sides) is regulated to >=0.3. Simultaneously with said rolling, the >=15mm. rolling in the plate-width direction is performed once or more times by an edger roll by the time of completion of rolling. |
