PURPOSE:To enable the formation of an image which satisfies thoroughly various characteristics required as a coupler by using a specific phenolic cyan coupler. CONSTITUTION:A cyan dye image is formed in the presence of a phenolic cyan coupler expressed by the general formula shown in the figure. In the formula, X denotes hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, an aryl oxy group, carbamoyl oxy group, alkyl oxy group, acyl oxy group, sulfonamide group, imide group, for example, a heterocyclic thio group such as triazoryl thio, tetrazoryl thio, Y denotes halogen, n denotes 3-5 integer and R1 denotes a ballast group. |
