PURPOSE:To reduce mirror image power between a developer and a developer supplier and to realize low-potential development by giving a potential difference between the developer supplier and electrodes in an electrode group and moving the developer. CONSTITUTION:A developing device is equipped with a developing roll 8 as the developer supplier which has several hundreds - several thousands of small electrode group 8n formed in a cylinder surface linearly in parallel. Those small electrode group 8n scatters toner 2 slightly over the developing roll 8. Two optional adjacent small electrodes 8a and 8b in the small electrode groups 8n have dielectrics 18. The toner 2 present over the small electrodes 8b is repelled momentarily by the small electrode 8b the moment a switch Sn is closed by an external bias voltage and attracted by the small electrode 8a to scatter along lines of electric force between the electrodes 8a and 8b as shown by an arrow. |
