Film cassette unloading rig

The film cassette (1) is held in locating jaws (5) and offered up to a piston (4) to push the loaded reel (F) out of the cassette after the top has been removed. The reel is gripped to prevent the film from unreeling and is thus in a position to be threaded into the processor. The grip is either a sprung pair of fingers which locate on the lip of the reel, or a drive dog at the end of a sprung shaft which grips the reel and turns it to keep the film wound.
