Direct heating device for combustible gas flow

The device diverts part of the incoming gas flow to a gas mixer (5) which mixes it with combustion air in the stoichiometric ratio before supplying it to a counter-pressure gas burner (8). The combustion products obtained from the burner are fed to a mixing chamber (13) for mixing with the supplied gas flow before this is fed to the ongoing pipeline section. Pref. the incoming and outgoing pipeline connections (2,4) are coupled to a gas chamber (3) containing an axial cylinder (12) with a diffuser at its output side containing the mixing chamber (13), the burner (8) projecting into the gas chamber (3) at the opposite end. The device is used for natural or town gas fed along long pipeline tracts.
