Heat exchanger with sheet metal plates

The heat exchanger has working surfaces formed by flat sheet metal components and is particularly for use with two media flowing in large quantities at right angles to each other. The surfaces separating the media are mounted close together. The flat plates (1) each have a base surface (3), and a joint surface (4) parallel to it. The joint surface is formed by bending two opposite edges of the plate into required shape. The plates can be stacked with a 90 deg. turn in relation to each other, the joint surface of one being secured to the base surface of the next one. Bosses (5) can also be fromed in the plates extending to the height above the base surface up to the joint surface.
