摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To transfer a force, produced in an output shaft due to external turbulence, through damping process to an input shaft, by the use of rollers, loosely mating an input shaft having its short shaft at an end plate, an output shaft having an end plate provided with an abutting wall, and a housing forming the inner wall of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Two short shafts 32 and 33 are mounted on the end plate of an input shaft 21, with which rollers 42 and 43 are loosely engaged. An abutting wall 36 is installed on the end plate 29 of an output shaft 22. The rollers 42 and 43 are forced into contact with the inner wall 27 of the cylinder of a housing. The rotary force from the input shaft is transmitted in order, to the short shaft, the rollers, and the abutting wall. When any external turbulence such as kickback, is applied to the output shaft, the rotary force from the abutting wall is exerted in the direction in which the rollers are pressed against the inner wall, whereby the force is damped to be transmitted to the input shaft. This permits preventing of the occurrence of kickback to a steering wheel without the use of a worm gear or the like.</p>
