摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a distinct color copy by forming a photoconductive toner layer on a developer carrying member provided with an insulating layer on a conductive supporting body, and executing an image irradiation from a transparent electrode side superposed on the upper part of the toner layer. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive toner layer containing three kinds of color developing agents having an opposite polarity to a bias power source V2 is formed on the surface of the developer carrying member 20 consisting of the insulating layer 22 and the conductive supporting body 21 connected to the power source V2. A transparent conductive plate 23 connected to the bias power source V1(V1>V2) is made adjacent to the toner layer and exposure of an original image is executed from the back of the conductive plate 23. As a result, in a part corresponding to red of an original, red light is irradiated, a cyan toner becomes conductive, is repelled against the transparent electrode 23 and is left in the carrying member 20 side. As to other color, too, the operation is executed in the same way. In this way, a color toner latent image is formed on the conductive plate 23. When a toner latent image is transferred by a corotron connected to bias power source V3 having the same polarity as that of the power source V1, a distinct color copy can be obtained.
