Handle for use with an L-shaped tool, a key and in particular an Allen key or hexagon socket screw key, by which the leverage and grip on the key is improved and, moreover, protection is provided in case the tool should break during use. The handle is constructed with an elongate shank part which has an axial passage in it, for receiving the long end of the key. A head part is provided at the end of the shank part and possesses a cavity which is constructed perpendicularly to the shank-part passage and open thereto in order to receive the shorter end of the key. A spring-loaded pivot finger, forming an eccentric clamp, is fixed in the head part in order to retain the end of the key inside the handle during actuation of the key (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>
