PURPOSE:To prevent a cap to be attached to a socket from slipping off in a certain manner, by improving a construction around a metal ring, in case of a device which houses the metal ring holding a ball inside a plastic-make socket housing the ball of a ball stud. CONSTITUTION:A ball joint consists of a ball stud 1 carrying a ball 2 at its one end, a plastic-make socket 3 carrying a housing part 4 pierced through in a vertical direction and a cap 5 screwed in an internal thread 6' from upside and further is made up so as to house a metal ring 12 composed of an elastic metal wire for holdig the ball 2 inside the housing part 4. In this case, a small projection 13 capable of being thrust in a gap 12' of the metal ring 12 even if a diameter of this ring 12 is contracted is installed in the lower end inner circumference of a taper surface 7 of the housing part 4. In addition, a notch 14 where one end of the metal ring 12 is caught by diametral expansion in the ring 12 when the cap 5 gets loosened is formed on the lower end outer circumference of an extension part 11 of the cap 5. |
