PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the alignment of optical axis by joining a YIG plate and a polarizer at an optically low loss to one body. CONSTITUTION:A YIG plate as a 45 deg. polarizer is cut from a single crystal YIG and is prepd. as a seed crystal. The seed crystal is held in the upper part in a vessel 11 made of silver or platinum by using a suitable jig 12. Sintered CaCO3 or natural calcite is set as a raw material 13 in the lower part of the vessel 11. A control plate 14 which controls convection is provided in the middle of the vessel. An alkaline soln. of KOH, NaOH or K2CO3, NaCO3 is filled in a prescribed amt. in the vessel. The vessel 11 is disposed in an autoclave 15 having 2,000atm pressure resistance, and water is filled between the autoclave and the vessel to the same volume as the volume filled in the vessel. The vessel is thereafter heated up to a prescribed temp. at a programmed constant heating speed. A crystal is removed from the vessel 11 after growth for a specified time, and a rare earth cobalt magnet having high performance is disposed to enclose the YIG plate which is a monolithic constituting part by post-processing. The need for a yoke is eliminated. |
