Semi-trailer with steerable rear axle - has cable stretch indicator, reacting to excessive release of springs

To facilitate coupling procedure to the truck, the trailer has a King-pin fitted to a drum (5) rotatable w.r.t. the truck. The drum is rotatably connected via a coupling mechanism with the truck and partly surrounded by a cable (8) fixed to the drum. The cable ends are connectable to the steerable rear-axle (20) control bar (11). This bar extends via two rods (15) symmetrical w.r.t. the longitudinal centre line of the trailer, connected with an intermediate rotary part. Both cable ends are spaced from each other and symmetrical w.r.t. the longitudinal centre line of the trailer, to grip the rotary intermediate bar in a pre-loaded resilient manner.
