PURPOSE:To perform focusing detection precisely and easily by arranging a secondary image formation system which re-forms plural images of a subject image formed on the image formation surface of a photographic lens behind the image formation surface. CONSTITUTION:A focusing detector has the photographic lens 15, light shielding member 16 which has two slits 17 and 18 arranged near an expected image formation surface, field lens 19 provided right behind the light shielding member 16, opening which limits luminous flux incident to a secondary image formation lens 22, light splitting means 21, etc. The 1st two subject images formed by the photographic lens 15 through the slits 17 and 18 are reformed on the secondary image formation surface 23 as the 2nd eight subject images respectively without overlapping one another. This constitution perform the precise and easy focusing detection. |
