摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having high sensitivity all over the frequency band by forming an org. substance layer of 0.1-0.5mum thickness on a coated magnetic layer and a ferromagnetic metallic thin film on the org. substance layer. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic powder is dispersed in a binder and coated on a nonmagnetic support 1 to form a coated magnetic layer 2. An org. substance is coated on the layer 2 to form an org. substance layer 3, and a ferromagnetic metallic thin film 4 is formed on the surface of the layer 3. The frequency characteristics of the resulting magnetic recording medium can be regulated as a whole by adjusting the thickness of the layer 3. The thickness of the layer 3 is made <=0.5mum so as to inhibit reduction of output in a medium band and to obtain sufficient output in a high band. The output loss of the magnetic layer 2 is reduced in accordance with reduction in the thickness of the layer 3, yet >=0.1mum thickness is required to obtain satisfactory surface properties. Accordingly, the thickness of the layer 3 is adjusted to 0.1-0.5mum. |
