PURPOSE:To selectively perform the quantitative analysis of tertiary amine in a specimen with good accuracy, by a method wherein the solution mixture obtained by adding a solution mixture of n-hexane and ethyl acetate to a specimen solution is injected into a separation column while a solution mixture of acetic anhydride and citric acid is added to the column passing liquid to develop the color of said passing liquid. CONSTITUTION:A solution mixture of n-hexane and ethyl acetate is added to a specimen solution 2 in a specimen introducing part 3 to form a solution mixture which is, in turn, injected into a column 4 packed with a packing material such as resin obtained by chemically bonding an aminoethyl group to a silica gel to hold tertiary amine in the specimen. Because tertiary amine is eluted from the column 4 after a definite time, a solution mixture prepared by containing 0.1-20% citric acid in acetic anhydride is sent to a mixing part 5 from a liquid feed part 6 to be mixed with the eluted liquid and the resulting liquid mixture is heated to 50-150 deg.C in a heating part 7 to develop a color. The absorption peak of the visible light part thereof is measured by a fluidized photometer 8 to be recorded and displayed by a recording apparatus 9. By this method, a tertiary amine mixture is easily separated without receiving the obstruction of coexisting primary amine or secondary amine to enable the quantitative analysis of individual tertiary amine. |
