The heating plate has a tubular heating coil soldered to its underneath, together with an overheating cut-out switch. The upper peripheral edge of the plate fits into a dished recess within the rinsing drum, with a peripheral water-tight seal around the lipped edge. The plate is positioned in the base part of the rinsing drum for heating the fresh water feed to the latter and/or the recycled rinsing water. The tubular heating coil may be used for water heating with an additional heating element on the opposite side of the plate used for heating the drying air.
