A safety valve as a load-holding valve in hoist hydraulics is subdivided in a housing for the working-cylinder connection into three paths (66, 67, 68), in one (66) of which is arranged a non-return valve (17) closing towards the control unit, in a further one (67) of which is arranged a secondary relief valve (22) with tank connection (9) and in the third one (68) of which is arranged a pilot control slide as a bevel-seat pilot regulating slide (23), the outlet of which is connected to the connection (11) to the control slide (13) and the pilot control piston (24) of which is connected to a spring-loaded non-return throttle valve (26) having a parallel throttle stage (27) and connected to a corresponding valve arrangement of the other working side of the cylinder. At the same time, the bevel-seat pilot regulating slide (23) acts as a flow-regulating valve. <IMAGE>
