Warp knitting laces for ornamenting women's underwear or overcoats are prepd. as follws. Curved scallops at the rim of the base clothing structure have portruded picots and scallop-forming filaments are arranged over wales. The filaments form knitting lattice lines in the direction of the wales, first horizontally, and then in the opposite direction. By repeating this process, scallop-forming filaments are wound, porducing curved scallop parts at the rim of the base clothing structure. Base parts of the picots are knitted and attached to the scallop parts, their fore-ends protruding out of the scallop parts.
