PURPOSE:To prevent the pH decrease of electrolytic solution, by adding at least one of the substances of zinc oxide and zinc hydroxide into the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Zinc oxide or zinc hydroxide is added to electrolytic solution. A flat plate-shaped dry cell is utilized for a dry cell, and it comprises the positive electrode mixture 1 of manganese dioxide and acetylene black, the negative electrode mixture 6 of unhardened zinc powder, the separator 5 of nonwoven fabric, a resin sealing body 4, and current collecting bodies 2, 7 which are made by laminating a hard aluminum and a conductive film in which carbon filler is kneaded to a resin. Thus, the pH decrease of the electrolyte is held down, the generation of hydrogen gas from the zinc being a negative electrode active material can be restrained without using mercury, so that a dry cell which is excellent in safety and has high industrial utility value can be obtained. |
